Voyager

July 31, 2009

These are all pictures I took while waiting for the Capitol Hill Block Party to start back on saturday. I’m still not sure what’s going on with the pie but I like it, and also another appearance of the mustache box by Karl Addison of Partybots fame.

Work In Progress

July 30, 2009

Awesome graffiti work being performed throughout the Capitol Hill Block Party. I did not have a chance to meet the artists, but it is obviously a piece done for the Vera Project.

Claudius Phaedrus

July 29, 2009

After a lot of searching I finally found the artist who does the cool newspaper street-art.  The artist’s name is Claudius Phaedrus and he has done some really cool work around Seattle. Here are some pictures I took of some art of his done for the restaurant Wann in downtown Seattle.

Also click here to see his Blog or here to see his Flickr.

About Face

July 27, 2009

A cool collection of face stickers taken around Capitol Hill. They all seem to be by the Free Sheep Foundation artist who does the Grandmas except for maybe the  first and last pictures.

Kool Thing

July 24, 2009

Just a couple pictures from a while ago. I love the elephant body and the tree is pretty cool. Also, got Kool Thing by Sonic Youth for your musical entertainment. Sonic Youth will be playing at the Capitol Hill Block Party tomorrow night so if you can you should definitely go see them.

Come To Block Party This Friday or Saturday

July 23, 2009

Besides writing this blog, I am a fellow at the Washington Bus, a progressive political organization focused on increasing civic engagement in today’s youth. This Friday and Saturday the Bus will have a booth at the Capitol Hill Block Party and will have a wall (below) available for artists (or anyone else) to write on/draw/paint/wheat paste. Preferably the art would be related to voting or the Bus, but we’re open to anything.

Woodgrain

July 22, 2009

Wooden panel art around Capitol Hill by artist Karl Addison. A little bit of variation from the usual stickers is always nice, but I’m not so sure I can fully get behind these wooden cutouts. On an unrelated note, go to the Capitol Hill Block Party this weekend and see great music/art. This posts musical accompaniment, “Make Her Say”, the new Lady GaGa sampling Kid Cudi video.
